Typica.
Typica asked me to capture Jamie at work, to show the hands, the space, and the way coffee moves from green bean to cup under his attention. Jamie isn’t about hype or scores. He’s about tasting, experimenting, sourcing from overlooked origins, and making coffee that’s real and approachable.
The roastery is raw, full of texture, light, and sound; the hum of machines, the squeaks from the heat seales, the smell of roasting beans. I wanted the photos to show the craft and the rhythm of Jamie and the environment that shapes the coffee. It’s about the moments you don’t see online, the small decisions that make a batch stand out, and the energy behind the cup.
These images are a record of that process. They show Jamie sourcing, roasting, tasting, and experimenting, highlighting specialty coffee culture in London and the people and practices that keep it alive. Typica’s goal was to tell that story visually, and the project was about capturing honest coffee, the craft behind it, and the space it happens in.
